Could Silverburn Shopping Centre go solar?

Silverburn is one of Scotland's largest shopping centres, and its huge flat retail roof — around 56,000 sqm above the shops in Pollok, Glasgow — makes it one of the biggest solar surfaces we've measured. Fully covered, roughly 22,000 panels (about 9 MW) could generate an estimated 5.8–7.1 million kWh a year, comparable to around 2,400 homes. An installer survey would confirm what's actually viable.
