Could Riverside Stadium go solar?
Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium sits by the Tees with big stand roofs enclosing the pitch on all four sides. Across roughly 11,000 sq m of that roofing, a full solar fit-out might run to about 3,700 panels and 1.5 MW. Our figures suggest an estimated 1.0–1.2 million kWh a year — enough, in theory, to match around 410 homes. Northern sunshine keeps the numbers measured.
