Rebuilt in 2010 on Aberford Road, Pinderfields Hospital carries its roof across several levels — a modern PFI acute block with plenty of flat area up top. Across roughly 16,500 square metres, we estimate space for around 2.4 MW of solar and close to 5,900 panels. In Wakefield's roughly 950 sun hours a year, that's an estimated 1.8 to 2.2 million kWh — theoretical, and used on site around the clock.
