Could Braehead Shopping Centre go solar?
On the banks of the Clyde at Renfrew, Braehead pairs a riverside super-mall with an expansive flat roof of about 48,000 sqm. It ranks among the largest retail roofs we've measured near Glasgow. Cover the lot and roughly 20,000 panels — around 8 MW — could generate an estimated 5.2–6.4 million kWh a year, close to 2,200 homes. A survey would confirm the usable area.
